The festival Lisbon was waiting for
On 26 and 27 June 2027, Lisbon hosts the 8th edition of the Portugal Basketball Festival — an international youth tournament that brings together clubs, academies and select teams from all over the world for one weekend of basketball.
Our ambition is simple: to make the festival a reference in international youth basketball, offering every team the chance to compete against different schools of play, with qualified refereeing and a competition format that guarantees game time.
Lisbon does the rest. One of Europe's safest and most awarded destinations, with sunshine, history around every corner and Atlantic beaches minutes away — a city built for a team trip.
More than a tournament, the festival is an experience: a Festival Village with fun zone, food court and music, an opening ceremony where every team parades under its flag, and memories of camaraderie that players carry home long after the final buzzer.

Games are played across quality basketball venues in and around Lisbon. Detailed venue information is provided to registered teams.
Format
How the tournament works
- Competition system
- Group stage in round-robin format, followed by classification games and play-offs, with finals on the last day.
- Number of games
- A minimum of 4 games per team. The exact number depends on how many teams enter each category.
- Game duration
- 4 periods of 8 minutes, with running or stopped clock as defined in the official regulation for each round.
- Rules
- FIBA rules with the adaptations described in the official festival regulation, provided to every registered club.
- Referees
- All games are officiated by qualified referees, including international officials invited for the festival.
- Awards
- Medals for the podium in every category, participation awards and MVP recognition.
